As an official business partner with Grand Avenue Elementary School, Holland & Knight is pleased to commit its volunteers and resources in a variety of dynamic programs that further the educational and social experiences of many Grand Avenue students.

Read 2 Succeed

Orange County's Read 2 Succeed Program matches volunteers with second grade students reading below grade level. The program focuses on reading specific tutoring coupled with personal development through mentoring using the developmental asset approach. The program's goal is to impart of love of books and learning and help students gain vital skills in social and personal development.

Holland & Knight's 22 volunteers make up the force that attends weekly reading sessions at Grand Avenue. This group, coordinated by Kathy Molhem, received special training to become outstanding literacy tutors and their skills are put to use through this important outreach program that can change the live of a child forever.

Brownie Girl Scout Troop #11

Brownie Troop #7061 is operated by Holland & Knight volunteers. The volunteers travel to Grand Avenue twice per month for meetings. The girls work on several badge projects and plan field trips and community service projects.

Cub Scout Pack #902

Holland & Knight has supported the Boy Scouts at Grand Avenue Elementary since 1997. Chris Kolos of Holland & Knight attends meetings, plans awards ceremonies, and makes sure that the boys are treated to educational field trips and other fun outings. The boys camp each year too.
