National Campaign to Stop Violence

Do the Write Thing is an essay contest specifically created for middle school students. This national program operates in a number of major cities throughout America. Holland & Knight is the program's sponsor in Miami. 

Founded by the National Campaign to Stop Violence in America, this essay contest encourages young people to write about effects of violence in their communities. The essays are judged by Holland & Knight lawyers and staff, as well as by members of the Juvenile Justice Community. The first place winners from Miami travel to Washington, D.C., to meet and work on community building projects they can bring home to their own community.
