Holland & Knight volunteers at North Fork Elementary participate in a myriad of programs that offer assistance to some of Broward County's neediest children.

Each month, volunteers from the Holland & Knight office read one-to-one with children in the school's first grade. Additionally, they bring new books for each child to read and bring home, through Reading Is Fundamental.

The Holland & Knight Charitable Foundation also provides a school-wide Reading Is Fundamental book distribution program three times per school year. For many of the children, these books are the only children's literature found in the home.

Through the Fort Lauderdale Children's Theater and the Holland & Knight Charitable Foundation, fifth graders at North Fork participate in the First Chapter program whereby actors read the first chapters of books, and tutors work with students to read the chapters thereafter. When the program culminates, each students has the ability to exhibit his or her comprehension of the book through various theatrical exercises.

Holland & Knight was named Business Partner of the Year in 2004 and is consistently nominated for this award.
